After a 15+ hour bus ride up to the Trujillo area of Peru, we arrived in Huanchaco, where we spent the night. We then visited the La Rampa Skatepark in Cerrito Village. Here we got to skate and work with the kids from the EduSkate program run by the Otra Cosa Network, a Peruvian non-profit NGO. The EduSkate program uses skateboarding to keep kids learning and off the streets by enrolling them in after-school educational programs.  We left around 50 complete skateboards with the kids at the event and extras at the house there at La Rampa Skatepark for the community kids to come and use when they visit!

Following this event, we drove up to the Trujillo public skatepark, where we gave out another 50 complete skateboards to the youth of Trujillo. Around half of the skateboards were given to young female skaters who are a part of the lessons that the Concrete Jungle Foundation holds at the Trujillo skatepark. Throughout this giveaway, a skate contest and other activities were held at the skatepark bringing together a massive crowd of skaters from all parts of Trujillo.

Sharing the love of skateboarding across the Trujillo area, our time in this region of Peru allowed us to have a large event pulling together the skateboarding community throughout the city while also working with young kids in the small town of Cerrito. This portion of our trip will surely leave a lasting memory and impact on all those who participated in the events at the Trujillo public skatepark and the EduSkate center as they use their skateboards for years to come.
